De Rumania a Buenos Aires: una pathosformel steinbergiana.

Abstract

En este artículo se traza la evolución de algunos grafismos empleados por Saul Steinberg, dibujante rumano emigrado a Estados Unidos a principios de los años cuarenta, escapando de la amenaza nazi. Empleando el concepto de pathosformel acuñado por Aby Warburg y utilizado de forma extensiva en Argentina por José Emilio Burucúa, se rastrea la influencia del artista en un grupo de dibujantes dedicados de forma predominante al humor gráfico en Argentina entre 1950 y 1970. De ese modo se visualiza la impronta de Steinberg en el lenguaje gráfico de una generación de artistas argentinos y las formas en que estos también lo reapropiaron y modificaron.
