Inhibition constitutes one of the main executive components. It is central to many fundamental processes for childhood and school age. Although intervention studies to improve performance of executive processes during the school age have proliferated, those wich are specifically designed for inhibition, are limited. Furthermore, they are not based on current theories (nonunitary) and they do not evaluate the different types of transfer of results.Consequently, the aims of this work are: to design and implement a computerized training program of perceptual, cognitive and behavioral inhibition in children between 6 and 8 years, to assess their impact on performance on tasks similar to those which were trained, to analyze whether the effects of training are transferred to others skills and domains and to analyze whether the effects of training are maintained over the time. An experimental design with pre and post-training will be implemented. A nonrandom sample of children between 6 and 8 years old will be selected. Participants will be randomly assigned to three experimental groups and one control group. This study will contribute to the knowledge of inhibitory processes at school age and the development of intervention strategies to optimize performance.
