In this entry, the processes of intensification and domestication of camelids in the Andes are analyzed and briefly discussed from an archaeological perspective. The diverse evidence from related research is also considered. Additionally, the main archaeological sites with evidence of change in camelid use during the Middle Holocene and beginning of the Late Holocene are presented.
