Abstract

El artículo discute las problemáticas sobre las que giran las discusiones de las modernas teorías de la traducción (entre otras, las propuestas de Bassnett, Lefevere, Benjamin, Berman, Lianeri, Zajko, Ricoeur, Venuti, Eco, etc.) para centrarse en las problemáticas particulares de la traducción del teatro antiguo. Se llama la atención sobre las peculiaridades del texto teatral antiguo y las dificultades que supone traducir comedia griega antigua. En particular se detiene en las posibilidades de traducción de fenómenos como la topicalidad, los juegos de palabras, las jergas técnica, los neologismos, los dialectos, los nombres parlantes, el humos obsceno y el metro. Se ejemplifica con pasajes de la propias traducciones publicadas por la editorial Losada.
