Abstract

Este libro ofrece una introducción a un sistema de pensamiento que, a pesar de haber surgido en una época alejada de la nuestra y en un contexto cultural muy distinto del actual, se encuentra vigente en nuestro tiempo y suelo. La filosofía de Baruch Spinoza nos interpela, se muestra fecunda para pensar nuestro presente y nos brinda herramientas para transformarlo. Sin renuncias al rigor conceptual ni a la complejidad propia del discurso filosófico, este libro brinda una presentación general del pensamiento spinoziano y se propone compartir con un público amplio la potencia de movilizar el pensamiento y el deseo de ser libres que Spinoza transmite en todas sus obras.El capítulo "Ser humano" reconstruye la concepción spinoziana del ser humano. En primer lugar, analiza su demostración de que el ser humano es una una mente y un cuerpo, que no son sino una sola ymisma cosa pero considerada desde perspectivas diferentes. Luego, aborda la noción spinoziana de deseo, que es la esencia actual de los seres humanos. Finalmente, estudia a los seres humanos como partes de un todo, esto es, como modos finitos siempre en relación con otros modos finitos. Antes de concluir el capítulo, se esbozan algunas consideraciones finales sobre esta peculiar concepción antropológica.
