In the reading that Esposito offers of Nietzsche in Bíos, the latter is positioned as the main precursor of the immunity paradigm: it is the Nietzschean vital notion that gives specific direction to the protection of life by politics. In the present work we will seek to show that, rather, this relationship of precursion is supported by a reduction of the vital character proposed by Nietzsche, which leaves out specific capacities, as well as the notions of conflict and death, thus producing an impoverishment of the vital dynamic, and obstructing the possibility of thinking about a rupture divergent from that proposed by Esposito himself with respect to the modern paradigm.
