Abstract

The central combustion structure of Structure 3 of Punta de la Peña 9.I, Antofagasta de la Sierra (ANS), Catamarca, is a case study that reflects the social practices developed by the agropastoral societies that inhabited the area during the first millennium. The practices associated with the combustion structures such as the collection of firewood, the selection of species according to certain criteria, the construction of the combustion structures and the activities that take place in it, configure an assembly of relationships between humans and non-human, between the community and the landscape that leads to the co-construction of practices. The combustion structure is a space that gathers a large number of relationships that determine a way of "being" in space and from which other relationships and practices are carried out. The objective of this work is to generate a representation of the management of the firewood used during the operation of a combustion structure at the Punta de la Peña 9.I site and to reconstruct the collection and post-collection practices of the firewood used.
