Abstract

Este trabajo discurre sobre los modos en que la posición de pastores o criadores de animales puede ser comprendida en el marco de una socialidad ampliada, que incorpora a personas, animales y otros otros seres en los cerros de Huachichocana (región andina jujeña). Los materiales etnográficos discuten las imágenes clásicas de la "producción", usualmente utilizadas por académicos, técnicos y conservacionistas para caracterizar y diferenciar en última instancia a las tierras altoandinas de sus vecinas. La caza de animales del campo, los procesos de matanza, desuelle y cocción de animales criados y algunas situaciones de enfermedad apuntan hacia una ecología de seres que se despliega en torno a distintos existentes y sus diferentes "partes", sugiriendo la presencia de afectos cercanos a la predación en las relaciones de pastoreo.
