La crónica ilustrada de Felipe Guaman Poma de Ayala, compuesta alrededor de 1615 en el Virreinato del Perú, es generalmente leída como el producto del trabajo aislado de un creador individual. Este ensayo propone considerar la posibilidad de que Guaman Poma haya recurrido a prácticas traductoras colaborativas y multilingües para producir dicho texto. Invita así, a pensar que esta crónica puede ofrecer no solamente la perspectiva individual de un autor, sino también distintas posiciones de escritura y lectura en un mismo espacio textual.

The illustrated chronicle of Felipe Guaman Poma de Ayala, composed around 1615 in the Viceroyalty of Perú, is normally read as the product of the isolated work of an individual author. This essay considers the possibility that Guaman Poma used collaborative and multilingual translation practices in the production of his text. Thus, it invites us to think that his chronicle may offer not only the individual perspective of an author but also different writing and reading positions coexisting on the same textual space.
