Este trabajo buscó cuantificar las superficies cubiertas de agua por el río Paraná en diferentes periodos hidrológicos (húmedo, normal y seco). El cálculo se realizó en el área correspondiente al curso superior sur, el curso medio y el delta superior del río Paraná. Para ello se utilizaron imágenes del satélite Landsat-5 TM, Landsat-8 OLI y Sentinel-2A que fueron procesadas en la plataforma Google Earth Engine, se realizaron los mosaicos y el recorte por el límite del área en estudio. Posteriormente, se calculó el Índice de Agua Normalizado Modificado (MNDWI) a partir del cual se extrajo las superficies cubiertas por agua y se elaboraron los respectivos mapas temáticos para los años 1998, 2013, 2020 y 2021. La información generada es de gran utilidad para la planificación de medidas de adaptación a fenómenos extremos.
This work sought to quantify the surfaces covered with water by the Paraná River in different hydrological periods (humid, normal and dry). The calculation was made in the área corresponding to the upper south course, the middle course and the upper delta of the Paraná River. For this, images from the Landsat-5 TM, Landsat-8 OLI and Sentinel-2A satellite were used, which were processed on the Google Earth Engine platform, mosaics were made and the cutout was carried out at the limit of the area under study. Subsequently, the Modified Normalized Water Index (MNDWI) was calculated from which the surfaces covered by water were extracted and the respective thematic maps were prepared for the years 1998, 2013, 2020 and 2021. The information generated is very useful for planning adaptation measures to extreme events.
