Abstract

This article presents the analysis of the tax collections, fiscal structure and remittances form the treasury exchequer of Santa Fe, in the Viceroyalty of Río de la Plata. In base of the examination of the funds that were sent to the general treasury of Buenos Aires, the links established at the inside of Real Hacienda are studied in order to estimate the capacity of the royal treasury of Buenos Aires to centralize resources. Based on the study of the cash-books (manual and major) we pretend contribute to the characterization of the Bourbonic reforms in the late colonial period in América. Specifically, as to the tax collection and to the objective of transfer more remittances to the viceroyalty capital according to the needs of the Spanish Monarchy.
