Pensamento social e pesquisa informacional: o caso da Biblioteca Virtual do Pensamento Social (BVPS)

Abstract

This article examines the way in which, through the Digital Library on Social Thought (BVPS), “Brazilian Social Thought” as a research field has dealt with the recent challenges brought by informational and digital technologies. It is divided in three sections: a) a presentation of the BVPS universe, in which we explain what it is, its origins and possibilities, b) a brief discussion of the BVPS’ possible role in widening both the interdisciplinary and transnational horizon within this research field, as it seeks to stimulate dialogues with other national and transnational intellectual traditions; c) a map of the research field in “Brazilian Social Thought”, elaborated through the extraction of data from the Stella Experta Platform, which allows the field’s visualization: its temporal, disciplinary and thematic concentration, in addition to the growing interest in Latin American topics and authors.
