Abstract

Desde mediados del siglo XVI, con la conquista española, el norte de San Juan experimentó cambios económicos, sociales y políticos vinculados fundamentalmente con decisiones que se tomaban en ámbitos políticos superiores. A continuación se reseñan aquellos cambios, en el marco del desarrollo histórico de la provincia de San Juan.

Since the middle of the 16th Century, northern San Juan suffered economic, social, and political changes related to decisions made at superior political levels. Those changes are summarized here, within the frame of the historical provincial development.
