Impuestos, crisis y poder local

Abstract

Este capítulo explora tres problemáticas centrales del municipio rosarino durante la década de 1910. Primero, la cuestión de la fiscalidad provincial y los tributos locales, y su vinculación con el surgimiento de la Liga del Sur como grupo político local. Segundo, el impacto de la crisis de la Primera Guerra mundial en los sectores sociales vulnerables y las políticas adoptadas por el municipio para paliar esas dificultades. Tercero, la relación conflictiva establecida entre los Intendentes y el Concejo Deliberante de la ciudad que conllevó procesos de investigación, interpelación y destitución de algunos funcionarios.
