Este artículo examina las circunstancias y características historiográficas que han rodeado el nacimiento de lo que llamamos "nueva historiografía sobre la guerra de la Triple Alianza", para lo cual partimos de una recapitulación de las interpretaciones que de ella nos han ofrecido las diversas construcciones desde fines del siglo XIX en los países actores del conflicto, particularmente en Paraguay. En segundo término se muestran las líneas historiográficas que están emergiendo a partir de 1990.
This article is divided in to two main parts: the first aims to familiarize the reader with the circunstance and historiographic characteristics that surround the birt and development of the so-called new historiography about The Triple Alianza´s war. In the second a series of proposals are made based on an analysis if the historiography since the 1990s.
