Abstract

The evaluation of the intraocular scattering is a current area of investigation and there is not one procedure absolutely accepted in the clinical. In this paper, we compare two psychophysical methods: CSF and RTs using sinusoidal gratings of 1, 2, 4, 8, 12 y 24 c/deg. To measure the discriminative ability we use ectoptic diffusers and photopic adaptation (30cd/m2 ) with 110 and 220 lux of glare illuminance levels. Two subjects of 30 and 29 years old took part in these experiments, with monocular vision and natural accommodation and pupil. We propose a Scatter Factor based on the Glare Effect scaled by the glare illuminance value. The reaction time could be a worth tool to quantify the intraocular scattering.
