Abstract

As part of the project called “Archaeology of the eastern sector of the Lerma Sub-region. Space use and technology, X-XVIth Century” (Research Council of the National University of Salta or CIUNSa) we carry out archaeological studies in the northeastern portion of the Lerma valley (Salta Province). This region is characterized by the predominance of “chaqueño” forest and a low proportion of rainfall and humidity. In this opportunity, we present information resulting from systematic and unsystematic surveys carried out in the area. In the surveys the presence of alignments of stones, walls, concentrations of lithic and ceramic material were registered. The study of the materials collected in the different sites allowed us to provide new archaeological information.
