Rafael Gumucio ha escrito varios textos autobiográficos y la biografía de su abuela. Nicanor Parra: rey y mendigo, que es una biografía monumental de más de quinientas páginas, viene a sumarse a ese volumen autobiográfico en el que se retrata la trayectoria vital de un escritor. En esta biografía, Gumucio construye un vínculo filial y literario con Parra para poder inmiscuirse en su vida y escribir sobre él. Es el interés de este trabajo indagar en la hipótesis de que ese vínculo se configura como el nudo no sólo de esta biografía sino de una serie de biografías actuales en América Latina. A partir de su relación con Parra y del uso de los documentos, Gumucio pone en cuestionamiento la idea misma de biografía literaria.

Rafael Gumucio has written several autobiographical texts and his grandmother ́s biography. Nicanor Parra: rey y mendigo, which is a monumental biography of more than ve hundred pages, comes to join this autobiographical volume which draws the life path of a writer. In this biography, Gumucio builds a lial and literature relationship with Parra to go deeper into his life and write about him. e aim of this paper is to go through the hypothesis that this relationship is the key of this biography and of a corpus of Latin-American biographies. Gumucio questions the idea of literary biography on behalf his relationship with Parra and the particular use of the documents.
