Kasaty klasztorów w Wielkim Księstwie Toskanii za panowania Piotra Leopolda (1765-1790)

Abstract

"Panowanie ostatnich Medyceuszy przyniosło Toskanii pogłębienie upadku gospodarczego i kulturalnego. Florencja z tego okresu miała niewiele wspólnego z kwitnącym gospodarczo i słynącym z mecenatu miastem CJuattrocenta. Po wojnie sukcesyjnej polskiej, kiedy tron Lotaryngii otrzymał Stanisław Leszczyński - teść władcy Francji Ludwika XV, dotychczasowemu księciu Franciszkowi Stefanowi na mocy pokoju wiedeńskiego (1735) zrekompensowano utratę tronu lótaryńskiego przyznaniem księstwa Toskanii. Zięć cesarza Karola VI - Franciszek Stefan Lotaryński, objął władzę w Toskanii po śmierci ostatniego z Medyceuszy w roku 1737, w rzeczywistości zaś tylko raz przybył do swego nowego księstwa, w roku 1739."(...)
