This master´s thesis investigates how BREEAM-NOR can influence landscape architecture. The study examines topics such as site planning, plant selection and interdisciplinary collaboration. A qualitative method is employed, with ten in-depth interviews conducted with landscape architects and other professionals to illuminate the issue. The thesis shows that BREEAM-NOR can have a significant impact on landscape architecture, even though the assessments of the informants are divided. Some view the system as a strength in discussions and a tool for increased sustainability, while others criticize its lack of focus on outdoor disciplines and allowance for environmental degradation. Projects can become more robust and cohesive, with increased ecological value when requirements are properly applied and integrated. Differences in professional culture, motivation, and individual attitudes affect how the requirements are implemented. The thesis offers four proposals for change, that can enhance the manual´s adaption to landscape architecture.
