Froskeperspektiv på multimodalitet?

Abstract

Problemstillingen for denne undersøkelsen er «Hva sier norskbøker for studieforberedende utdanningsprogram om multimodale tekster, hva sier de om bildet som modalitet og hva sier de om samspill mellom skriftlig verbaltekst og bilde?». Formålet med studien er å si noe om i hvilken grad norskfagets lærebøker bidrar til å utvikle elevenes multimodale tekstkompetanse, særlig med tanke på resepsjon og analyse av multimodale tekster. For å finne svar på problemstillingen, undersøker jeg bøkenes presentasjon av fagstoff om emnet. Jeg undersøker i hvilken grad emnet er tematisert i bøkene, hvilke begreper som presenteres som relevante fagtermer og hvordan disse forklares og illustreres brukt. Jeg undersøker også hva som sies om semiotiske ressurser i bildemodaliteten og om effekten disse kan ha for meningspotensialet i teksten. Tekstutvalget består av tre bokserier fra ulike forlag, i alt ni bøker. Funnene i undersøkelsen er svært divergerende. Det vii si at det er store forskjeller på hvordan de tre bokseriene vektlegger og presenterer emnet, og i hvilken grad de gjennom presentasjon av fagstoffet kan sies a bidra til a utvikle elevenes multimodale tekstkompetanse.
