Musikkterapi ved demens

Abstract

Hensikt: Hensikten og bakgrunnen med denne oppgaven var å svare på problemstillingen: «Hvordan kan sykepleiere bruke musikk for å skape trivsel for personer med demens?» For å kunne svare på min problemstilling har jeg drøftet en del om virkningen av musikkterapi hos personer med demens og hvor lett tiltaket kan praktiseres i hverdagen. For å kunne svare på problemstillingen har jeg også valgt å se på utfordringer ved musikkterapi. Metode: Jeg har brukt litteraturstudie som metode. Funn: Musikkterapi er et godt tiltak som kan skape trivsel hos mennesker. Musikk som terapi treffer ikke hos alle, verken i grupper eller hos enkeltpersoner. I oppgaven kommer det også frem at musikkvalg har betydning, og at individualisert musikk er den beste metoden for terapeutisk effekt. Drøfting: I oppgaven ble funn av forskningsartiklene og teori drøftet opp mot hverandre. Drøftingen er sykepleierfaglig, og rettet mot problemstillingen. Det er også drøftet ulike situasjoner der musikk kan brukes som terapeutisk verktøy. Jeg har også vært kritisk til musikkterapi for å kunne se begge sider av saken. Oppgaven kommer frem til at musikkterapi er et effektivt verktøy for å skape både trivsel og trygghet for personer med demens.
