Abstract

Denne utgaven av Norges Banks Skriftserie inneholder memoarene til Knut Getz Wold, formann i Norges Banks direksjon 1970-1985 og nestformann 1958-1970. Manuskriptet ble til i perioden fra Getz Wold fratrådte sin stilling 1. april 1985 fram til han døde 9. oktober 1987 og ble maskinskrevet av Getz Wolds sekretær gjennom mange år, Solveig Andresen. Det var opprinnelig tenkt å bli utgitt som bok, noe som ikke skjedde. Getz Wolds upubliserte memoarer har blitt brukt som kildemateriale i forbindelse med bøkene som ble utgitt til Norges Banks 200-års-jubileum i 2016. I likhet med det øvrige materialet som har blitt produsert som bakgrunnsstoff for jubileumsbøkene, ønsker Norges Bank å gjøre memoarene offentlig tilgjengelige. I samråd med Getz Wolds familie har vi besluttet å utgi memoarene slik de foreligger. Jan Thomas Kobberrød, som er professor i historie ved Høgskolen i Sørøst-Norge og medforfatter av jubileumsboken Norges Bank 1816-2016, har skrevet en innledning til memoarene som setter dem inn i en historisk sammenheng.
