Bienestar docente y pensamiento emocional

Abstract

Se parte de la consideración de que existe un determinado malestar docente como consecuencia de los últimos cambios sociales y educativos y se determina cómo el bienestar viene modulado por nuestras creencias y nuestra capacidad de autorrealización. El método de pensamiento emocional está basado en el modelo de inteligencia emocional concebido por Salovey y Mayer en 1990 y difundido por Daniel Goleman a partir de 1995. El objetivo de este método es cambiar las emociones y sentimientos negativos en otros positivos a través del método de pensamiento emocional. Este método ha sido creado por el autor del artículo como un método personal y para la formación del profesorado universitario y no universitario en competencias emocionales. Se desarrollan cada una de las siete competencias que el método describe, las cuatro primeras referidas a uno mismo: autoconocimiento, autoestima, control emocional y motivación; las tres restantes: conocimiento del otro, valoración y liderazgo. En cada una de estas competencias se indican algunas actividades o ejercicios que ayudan al desarrollo de las mismas. Se concluye afirmando que el bienestar docente radica en el desarrollo de las competencias descritas y que el liderazgo es garantía de bienestar docente.
