Abstract

Dentro del marco general de las islas Baleares, la guerra Civil de 1936-39 presentó en Menorca unas características muy peculiares. A diferencia de lo que pasó en Mallorca y en las Pitiusas, el alzamiento militar de julio de 1936 fracasó, y la isla quedó dentro de la zona fiel al gobierno de la República hasta su ocupación por los franquistas en febrero de 1939. Este libro, analiza la evolución política, económica y social de la isla de Menorca durante los años del conflicto bélico.
