Pautas onomasiológicas y lexicográficas para discernir polisemia y homonimia
Con el fin de dilucidar los conceptos de polisemia y homonimia se establece en primer lugar la diferencia entre lexía y lexema y sus diferentes significados, así como el aspecto económico-linguístico de la polisemia y la homonimia. Un segundo contraste hallado entre la lengua española y la inglesa es que la diferencia entre homófonos, homógrafos y homónimos no parece estar muy definida para los anglosajones. Se comprueba a través de ejemplos cómo las voces polisémicas comparten referencias onomasiológicas, y ésa es la clave a la hora de discernir si nos hallamos ante una palabra (polisemia) o varias palabras (homonimia).
