As consequências trágicas da Primeira Guerra Mundial

Abstract

Como diria George Steiner, a tragédia é o grande espelho do homem em todos os tempos. A Grande Guerra, como foi chamada a Primeira Guerra Mundial, personifica na História das Relações Internacionais, um ponto catalisador do evento que se sucederá de modo impactante ao conflito de 1914-1918: a II Guerra Mundial. A hipótese do nosso trabalho se pauta na forma como foi conduzida as negociações de Versalhes que alimentarão o sentimento revanchista e de revisão do tratado por parte da Alemanha Nazista. Inegavelmente, o Tratado de Versalhes é considerado como uma “paz punitiva” no qual responsabilizou a Alemanha pela guerra e impôs fortes sanções econômicas, sociais, militares e territoriais. Partindo de pesquisa bibliográfica, o artigo problematiza a chamada paz punitiva e discute os efeitos negativos dessa imposição que resultará na maior Guerra de todos os tempos.
