The present invention relates to an apparatus for multistage gasification of carbonaceous fuels comprising a first container (2) with a pyrolysis-oxidation zone arranged therein and provided with an airtight closure (3) for replenishing fuel, an agitator (4) and at least one inlet (15) of a primary gasification medium (16). The apparatus further comprises a second container (7) with a partially oxidation zone (17) and a reducing zone (13) arranged therein, wherein the bottom of the second container (7) is formed by a mechanical grate (19) separated from the container (7) walls by a gap for the removal of ash, whereby said mechanical grate (19) has openings for passage of the produced gas. The first container (2) and the second container (7) are connected with each other by a socket (6), the agitator (4) extends all over the container (2) height and is provided at its end with a device (12) for gathering the pyrolyzed fuel in the lower section of the first container (2) and for its controlled pouring in the second container (7) through the socket (6). The agitator (4) is provided above the apparatus (12) with a shelter (11) for uncontrolled pouring the fuel into the second container (7) and in the socket, there is arranged at least one nozzle (8) for inlet of a secondary gasification medium into the partially oxidation zone.
