Computerization of libraries, and what follows, transition to electronic system of elaborating the resources, made many libraries stop running paper form catalogues, and also produced a necessity of training the personnel in how to operate the Horizon integrated digital library system. The aim of the abstract, is to show the changes that took place in the organizational aspects in the Oddział Bibliotek Zakładowych of the University of Łódź due to introducing this system, and the reasons which led to the closedown of the paper form Central OBZ Catalogue.
