Deformaciones y degeneraciones de álgebras de Lie

Abstract

The object of study of this thesis is the algebraic variety Ln of all complex Lie algebras of dimension n and the subvariety Nn of all nilpotent Lie algebras in Ln, with particular interest in the spaces of orbits associated with the action of the group GL (n,C) on Ln. To under-stand these varieties, deformations and degenerations that occur within Ln and Nn are studied. As specific objectives, two famous conjectures, known as Vergne conjecture and Grunewald-O’Halloran, open since 1970 and 1993 respectively are investigated. The Conjecture Grunewald-O’Halloran is demonstrated for all nilpotent Lie algebras that admit a semisimple derivation (rank ≥ 1) and for some families that no admit semisimple derivations (rank 0). Finally a very special family, given by Burde, of filiform Lie algebras of rank 0 and dimension n ≥ 14 are studied. These algebras have the particularity that all its ideals of codimension 1 are of rank 0, which does that to construct non trivial deformations is a complicated problem. For such algebras have been able to construct nontrivial deformations from nilpotent derivations of ideals of codimension 1 of these.
