Abstract

Resumo: Objetivo: O objetivo do estudo foi descrever as virtudes ao nível das caraterísticas sociodemográficas em indivíduos com sintomatologia depressiva. Metodologia: Participantes: Participaram neste estudo 90 indivíduos com sintomatologia depressiva e idades superiores aos 18 anos. Instrumentos: Foi utilizada a versão portuguesa da Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-5 (SCID-V) e do Values in Action Inventory of Strengths (VIA-IS), bem como um questionário sociodemográfico. Resultados: Foram encontradas diferenças estatisticamente significativas ao nível da virtude sabedoria em função do grau de escolaridade dos indivíduos, bem como ao nível das virtudes sabedoria, humanidade, transcendência e justiça em função do rendimento mensal líquido do agregado familiar. Conclusão: Existem diferenças ao nível das virtudes em função de algumas caraterísticas sociodemográficas nos indivíduos com sintomatologia depressiva. Quanto ao grau de escolaridade, quanto maior o grau de escolaridade dos indivíduos com sintomatologia depressiva, maiores os níveis da virtude sabedoria. Relativamente ao rendimento mensal líquido do agregado familiar, quanto maior o rendimento mensal líquido do agregado familiar, maiores os níveis das virtudes sabedoria, humanidade, transcendência e justiça.

Abstract: Objective: The aim of the study was to describe the virtues of sociodemographic characteristics in individuals with depressive symptoms. Metodology: Participants: 90 subjects with depressive symptoms and aged over 18 years participated in this study. Instruments: The Portuguese version of the Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-5 (SCID-V) and Values in Action Inventory of Strengths (VIA-IS) was used, as well as a sociodemographic questionnaire. Results: Statistically significant differences were found in the level of wisdom virtue as a function of individuals educational level, as well as in the level of wisdom, humanity, transcendence and justice virtues as a function of household net monthly income. Conclusion: There are differences in virtues due to some sociodemographic characteristics in individuals with depressive symptoms. As for the educational level, the higher the educational level of individuals with depressive symptoms, the higher the levels of wisdom virtue.For household net monthly income, the higher the household net monthly income, the higher the levels of wisdom, humanity, transcendence and justice virtues.
