Abstract

A concepção aristotélica da noção de lugar remete-nos para a inevitabilidade caracterizada pela dependência do espaço relativamente ao lugar como fenómeno , causa - efeito , noção de suporte à arquitectura clássica grega , gerada segundo o carácter do lugar aristotélico. Mais recententemente , e no plano da fenomenologia , a abordagem teórica de Merleau - Ponty considera a importância do fenómeno da percepção e , naturalmente , de comportamentos psicofisiológicos do observador perante o espaço que o rodeia. A perspectiva Heidggeriana viria a identificar sob outros pontos de vista a arquitectura oriunda do Movimento Moderno, encarando a arquitectura ou o acto de projectar como um acto de continuidade do lugar ou seja necessariamente da sua alma. Isto porque se entende que a noção ou ideia de lugar implica um universo espaço-temporal que advém da sedimentação histórico-geográfica do mesmo.
