Integración económica y acuerdos comerciales: Una revisión conceptual

Abstract

In this article we propose a review to the conceptualization of trade agreements considering the new economic integration processes. A qualitative methodological design was applied, based on the in-depth literature review technique. The results reflect that trade agreements are currently more complex, especially for the changes in the number of partners that adhere to the agreements. Besides, since the Marrakech Declaration, new topics are added to agreements, such as labor, gender, human development and cooperation issues, which directly affect the interlocutors. In conclusion, we are in front of a heterogeneous agreement considering their geography and partner, also, they are specific related to topics and limits. The main contribution of the article is conceptual, identifying the most recent elements that make up the concept of trade agreements in an era of economic globalization.
