Las canastas que fabrican los indígenas Bribris de Costa Rica, fueron tratadas desde el punto de vista matemático a partir del año 2005 por estudios etnomatemáticos, cuyo análisis consistió en la identificación de las figuras geométricas utilizadas, en el proceso de su construcción y en los acabados finales de dichos artefactos. A la luz de estudios y análisis posteriores de la autora, y en la búsqueda del significado de las figuras geométricas en el mito, se logró interpretar bajo cómputos matemáticos, la razón fundamental por la cual esta cultura revela en su historia mítica, que en cada canasta de base triangular está reflejada una vida humana.
The baskets that make the indigenous Bribri of Costa Rica, were treated from the mathematical point of view since 2005 by ethnomathematicians studies, the analysis was the identifcation of geometric shapes used in the process of construction and finishes the end of such devices. In light of studies and subsequent analysis of the author, and the search for the meaningof geometric figures in the myth, it was possible to interpret on mathematical computations, the fundamental reason why this culture in its mythical history reveals that in each triangular base basket of a human life is refected.
