Este trabajo pretende dar una visión realista e histórica de la masonería, centrándose también en las acciones de esta organización en la ciudad de Alicante. La introducción tiene como objetivo describir las diversas partes del documento y aclarar los objetivos del mismo. La primera parte del documento consiste en un repaso histórico de la masonería, desde sus inicios medievales hasta la actualidad. Se hará hincapié en eventos como las Constituciones de Anderson, la persecución por parte de la Iglesia o la leyenda negra divulgada por ciertos individuos como Léo Taxil. La segunda parte se centra en la masonería alicantina y en las acciones públicas llevadas a cabo por las diferentes logias a lo largo del siglo XIX. Se analizará el impacto que tuvo la masonería a un nivel social, educativo e infraestructural, destacando figuras alicantinas de gran importancia que fueron también masones. La tercera parte consiste en el análisis de una logia alicantina actual, la Constante Alona, comenzando con un repaso de su historia. También se describe el funcionamiento y cometidos de una logia masónica actual a partir del testimonio de dos miembros de la logia Constante Alona. Por último, se presentarán las conclusiones a las que ha llegado el autor.

This work tries to give a realistic and historical vision of masonry, also focusing on the work realized by this organization in Alicante. The introduction has the objective of describe the several parts of the document and to clarify the objective of the current work. The first part of the document consists in an historical review of masonry, from its medieval beginning to the current day. The work will also focus on events like Anderson's Constitutions, the persecution perpetrated by the Church or the black legend spread by certain figures like Léo Taxil. The second part focus on masonry in Alicante and the public actions made by the different lodges during the XIX century. This second part will also analyze the masonic impact in social, educative and infrastructural ambit; reviewing the most important masons in Alicante. The third part consists in the analysis of a nowadays lodge, Constante Alona, starting with a summary of its history. This part also describes the functioning and the objectives of a nowadays lodge thanks to the testimony of two masons from Constante Alona. Last, author's conclusions will be presented.
