Reincidencia Violencia de Género

Abstract

Gender-based violence is an important type of crime to take into account, since, year after year, this type of case occurs, either by new abusers or by aggressors who, having committed crimes against women, reoffend. The present work provides information in a truthful way, regarding the recurrence of the abuser, whether or not he has given the specific programs to modify his violent behaviors and prevent more episodes against the victim from happening again. A study is carried out based on the description of the programs and on the analysis of the data available to us, in order to find out the rates of recidivism in Spain due to this type of crime. Once the data has been collected, the information is compared, which shows that recidivism in gender violence is low. It would be possible to reduce it if participation increased or a greater number of gender-based violence aggressors were admitted to intervention programs.
