[EN] In the current research it is shown, in the first place, an approach to the historical context in which “seseo” has its roots as a linguistic variation in Spain, focusing on the following geographical areas: País Vasco, Comunidad Valenciana and Andalucía. Secondly, it is defined “seseo” and its relationship with other phenomena such as “ceceo”, its types and geographical delimitation. To achieve that objective it is made a detailed analysis of peninsular types of “seseo”, ending with the approach of contrastive considerations of the linguistic phenomenon of study.
