ADAPTACIONES LITERARIAS PARA ELE: FUENTEOVEJUNA Y LA DAMA BOBA DE LOPE DE VEGA

Abstract

(EN)This paper proposes an approach to the adapted edi`ons of Lope de Vega’s plays that can be used in ELE. Our corpus focuses on well-known comedies: Fuenteovejuna and La dama boba. On the one hand, we study those adapta`ons designed specifically for ELE students. On the other hand, we also examined children's and young adult adapta`ons which, due to their characteris`cs, may be interes`ng for L2 learners. We study their differences in the adapta`on of the text, in the introduc`on or study, in the footnotes (if any) and in the didac`c ac`vi`es. On the one hand, we argue that the simultaneous learning of ELE and Spanish literature can be an appropriate approach, especially for students interested in Spanish culture. On the other hand, we conclude that a combina`on of different adapta`ons (those designed specifically for ELE and those designed for a children’s or teenager audience) may be appropriate for classroom work.
