¿Funciona la asesoría pedagógica en escuelas multigrado? : evidencia experimental utilizando data administrativa

Abstract

The paper studies a coaching program scaled-up at the national level in multigrade primary schools implemented in Peru. The intervention impacts the academic performance in Spanish and Mathematics, in 0.098 and 0.125 standard deviations, respectively. The effects found are similar to those shown in the literature for coaching interventions in rural or unfavorable contexts. In addition, the program has distributive effects in the upper percentiles in Mathematics. Likewise, the mechanisms are explored and there is evidence that the impacts on learning are due to improvements in pedagogical practices and feedback among teachers.
