Abstract

ABSTRACT Information and Communication Technology (ICT), including mobile technology, has seen extraordinary evolution in recent decades. Mobile phones play an essential part in the lives of teenagers, who have also become very skilled at using them. This Project puts forward some innovative suggestions for using these devices as tools with which to develop apps, which will facilitate and stimulate learning in classrooms. The purpose of this Project is to encourage students to participate more actively in class, and to get them to learn basic notions of programming using MIT App Inventor. The latter’s user-friendliness for programming makes it suitable for introducing pupils into the field. The objective of the activities in this Project is that students should increase their levels of motivation, creativity, critical thinking, problem solving and other skills. At the same time, the aim would be to update the educational methods whilst taking into consideration current technological and social changes.
