RESUMEN El presente trabajo pretende recoger los aspectos fundamentales del sincretismo religioso en la provincia de Lusitania. En primer lugar, aclarar qué es el sincretismo, y acotar el término en el ámbito religioso. Se realizará asimismo, un pequeño contexto histórico sobre el proceso de la conquista romana, abarcando desde la II Guerra Púnica, primera vez que el Imperio Romano pone un pie sobre la Península, hasta la conquista y reorganización administrativa de Augusto. Se intentan esclarecer las razones de la creación de la provincia que nos ocupa lugar, intentando determinar si fue realizada bajo el criterio de mantener unidos a una serie de pueblos con características parecidas, o si por el contrario respondió a las necesidades administrativas y económicas de Roma. El grueso del trabajo analiza una serie de divinidades y cultos que se desarrollaron durante la conquista como consecuencia del contacto con otras civilizaciones.

ABSTRACT The main purpose of this essay is to expound the fundamental aspects of the religious syncretism in the region of LUSITANIA. First of all, define what the syncretism is, and delimit its concept in the religious field.We will also develop a brief historical context about the Roman Conquest, from the II Punic War -first time the Romans set a foot in the Peninsula- towards Augusto's conquest and administrative reorganization. We aim to clarify the reasons why the region was created, trying to determine if it was conducted following the criterion of maintaining the union between several villages with similar characteristics or if it was a response to administrative and economic requests from Rome. The main part of this essay tends to analyze a series of divinities and cults that spread out their characteristics during the conquest and due to the contact with other civilizations.
