Abstract

Abstract: The El Castillo cave rock art assemblage contains one of the most complete records of the artistic activity of the Upper Paleolithic. One of the most interesting panels, because of the accumulation of several pictorial phases, is El Panel de las Manos. In this paper we propose the reinterpretation of the shape and location of one figure, which serves us to essay a new definition of the panel. This new definition have a better integration in the knowledge of the Cantabrian Paleolithic rock art.
