Abstract

RESUMEN Este Trabajo de Fin de Máster consta de una revisión bibliográfica sobre la adecuación del uso de los subtítulos en las clases de lenguas extranjeras y su impacto en el aprendizaje de vocabulario por aprendices de inglés de Educación Secundaria Obligatoria y continúa con el diseño de una investigación que es llevada a cabo en 3 grupos de alumnos de 1º de ESO de un colegio concertado de Santander. La revisión bibliográfica presenta un resumen de varios trabajos que han estudiado la utilización o no de los subtítulos en los medios audiovisuales, el idioma de estos subtítulos y sus implicaciones didácticas. A continuación, se presenta la metodología de análisis seguida en la investigación que comienza con una encuesta que se pasó a los participantes para conocer sus preferencias con el fin de seleccionar fragmentos de vídeo cercanos a los intereses de los estudiantes. Seguidamente se pasó un cuestionario para conocer el historial lingüístico de los estudiantes y, por último, se llevó a cabo el entrenamiento que constaba de 4 fases: 1) pre-test, 2) visualización del fragmento de vídeo de 2,30 – 2,40 min, 3) post-test y 4) post-test 2 o post-test retardado. Los resultados muestran un mayor número de aciertos para los grupos que trabajaron con subtítulos y también indican que estos grupos obtuvieron un aprendizaje de vocabulario más significativo
