Este trabajo de investigación se ha realizado en torno a la producción musical presente en el Depósito Legal de Cantabria, acotado al periodo temporal que discurre entre los años 2010 y 2023. A través de un análisis exhaustivo de registros sonoros, monografías y partituras, se pretende trazar la evolución de la creación musical local - identificando tendencias y patrones-, así como recuperar la memoria de la producción musical de la región. Este enfoque permite no sólo preservar la memoria de la actividad musical cántabra, sino también resaltar la valiosa función que cumple el Depósito Legal como garante de la conservación y acceso a los bienes culturales. Además de un análisis exhaustivo mediante métodos cualitativos y cuantitativos, este trabajo reflexiona sobre el estado actual del patrimonio musical regional, aludiendo a la problemática a la que se enfrenta; cuestiones tales como, entre otras, la falta de definición precisa, o la desigual atención que recibe en comparación con otros ámbitos patrimoniales. Por último, la investigación subraya la importancia de integrar los diferentes puntos de vista y perspectivas que apuntan diversos autores, sobre las manifestaciones materiales e inmateriales de la música, contribuyendo así a enriquecer el conocimiento y la valorización del panorama musical tanto a nivel regional como en un contexto más amplio.

This research focuses on the musical production preserved in the Legal Deposit of Cantabria, delimited to the period between 2010 and 2023. Through an exhaustive analysis of sound recordings, monographs, and scores, it aims to trace the evolution of local musical creation -identifying trends and patterns- while recovering the memory of the region's musical production. This approach not only preserves the memory of Cantabria’s musical activity but also highlights the valuable role played by the Legal Deposit as a guarantor of the conservation and accessibility of cultural assets. In addition to a comprehensive analysis employing qualitative and quantitative methods, this study reflects on the current state of the region’s musical heritage, addressing the challenges it faces. These include, among others, a lack of precise definition and the unequal attention it receives compared to other heritage domains. Lastly, the research underscores the importance of integrating diverse perspectives offered by various authors on the material and intangible manifestations of music. This contributes to enriching the understanding and appreciation of the musical landscape, both regionally and in a broader context.
