ABSTRACT: This undergraduate dissertation seeks to explore the nature of Binge Tourism and trace its origins, development and current trends so as to determine its importance in the Spanish tourist sector nowadays. The typical profile of the tourist who consumes this product will be analysed and the most relevant areas of Spain in terms of this type of activity will be subjected to study. In addition, this study will present the main reasons for Spain’s popularity among the younger generation of European tourists as a venue for an activity essentially involving nightlife and the consumption of alcohol. Finally, the consequences it has for both tourist enterprises and the wider Spanish society will be highlighted, as will the impact that Binge Tourism produces on our economy.
