ABSTRACT: This work analyzes the place of Carranza in the theological universe that opened the School of Salamanca, its participation in the council of Trento with Domingo de Soto, as well as the characteristics of its doctrinal elaboration around the duty of residence of the bishops and of how the Church should be renewed. The participation of Carranza in the restoration of Catholicism in England made him change some elaborations in his model of Church that applied in Toledo before being processed by the Inquisition.
