The expectations of the industrial sector regarding the application of data science are as high as the difficulties in achieving them. It is usual to think that this environment, where machines and sensors have been present since its origins, is ideal for its application. Nevertheless, industrial ecosystem is very mature, and data science application is full of deficiencies and challenges. There are large volumes of information from a wide variety of sources where they are usually organized in silos, where data is available without cleaning, curing or processing and, in many cases, with no records of key variables for the monitored process. There are many approaches it’s able to adopt in order to fulfill expectations. Few of them allow us to achieve them keeping aligned with the objectives of the expert in the affected industrial area. In this TFM, it is proposed to study the adoption and implementation of data science for the digitalization, monitoring and control of one of the most demanding energy processes in the industrial sector: the generation of pneumatic energy through the use of air compressors and the networks they feed.
