Abstract

ABSTRACT Education in values has been and continues to be the subject of study and educational formation in educational contexts, more focused today by social changes, requires new educational models in which to promote values of collaboration, dialogue and equity. In this context, teachers as educational agents must promote an adequate education in values among their students. In particular, the university levels where future teachers are formed is the focus of attention of this work. The objective of this research is to approach this from a reflective and respectful look at the opinions of the students who study teaching in primary education at the Faculty of Education of the University of Cantabria, on their assessments of their training in values, their vision of how they perceive the values in the school, the family and the students, and the importance that they give to diverse values as a basis for an adequate formation in values. The sample has focused on students in their last year of university studies, and in particular, the results presented here are those corresponding to the pilot test carried out during the course 2017/18 with a total of 10 students surveyed. The research instrument that has been used has been the questionnaire, raised from a mixed methodology. Although the questionnaires collected have been scarce, the results show a general interest in continuing to receive more in depth training in values during their university studies. In addition, most of the students surveyed coincide with recent studies on the importance of coordinating school and family to promote an education in quality values.
