Como afrontar los principales problemas ambientales en la educación infantil a nivel de Cantabria

Abstract

ABSTRACT: Environmental education is of prime importance in today's world, where inculcation, awareness and transmission of respect values towards other living beings and natural environment becomes a main objective. The child’s first stage of education (Pre-School Education) is the basis for personal and social development. Therefore, we must take the opportunity to accompany them in their training as a person from a very young age, facilitating the mechanisms for the child to know the environment and develop feelings of care and affection towards it. In this work, a compilation and study of the principal environmental problems in Cantabria and their adaptation to the children´s curriculum, is carried out. In addition, some activities are suggested to promote awareness among children at an early age the need to care for and respect the natural environment, as well as the development of a reflexive and critical attitude towards those negative actions by the human being that cause serious environmental problems. This project arises from the need to claim the knowledge´s importance of environmental problems. In this way, we will qualify people to develop habits of care and respect for the environment. It must be noted that there is a lack of documentation and insufficient resources to work on environmental problems in the stage of early childhood education.
