Abstract

ABSTRACT: Through the present work, I intend to introduce natural hazards into the nursery classrooms, so that children, from very early ages, develop knowledge, behaviors and attitudes that make them less vulnerable to natural hazards. To achieve this, I have designed an innovative project with various activities, which will be distributed for weeks, where each week a different risk will be treated, that is to say, the first week an introduction to natural hazards will be done address, the second week, fires, the third floods, the fourth extreme meteorological phenomena and the fifth danger at the beaches. For acquiring in each week, some basic notions about each risk. Likewise, the proposed activities will be within the three areas that involve the curriculum of the stage of Early Childhood Education, thus organizing the educational content that children should acquire. These areas are: self-knowledge and personal autonomy; Knowledge of the environment and languages: communication and representation. Once I started one of the weeks, the week of the fire, I was able to verify that although it was a subject that was not very close to children, they had acquired basic knowledge about it.
